What ConnectorAtlas knows, and how it knows it.
Technical compatibility, manufacturer identity, authorization and territory are different claims. They should not be collapsed into one green checkmark.
Source-backed
An explicit low-risk technical fact may be published from a manufacturer-controlled source when provenance requirements are complete. No interpretation or option-combination inference is allowed.
Human reviewed
Higher-risk claims — including QPL, qualification/compliance and exact configurations — require manual review or manufacturer confirmation before publication.
Unknown is not false
If ConnectorAtlas has no evidence for a required attribute, that family does not pass the verified technical filter. It may remain a research candidate, but it is not presented as compatible.
Sourcing is separate
A technical family can match while authorized sourcing for a territory remains unverified. Country scope is never inferred from headquarters, a generic region or a distributor website.
Current public scope.
The live technical beta is Micro-D. Other connector categories may appear in the taxonomy as roadmap coverage, but they are not treated as verified technical search datasets until their evidence gates are published.
Application is context, not compliance.
“Aerospace”, “Defence”, “Industrial”, “Automotive”, “Railway” and similar application labels help describe the use case. They do not automatically create requirements such as MIL-DTL-38999, QPL, -55/+125 °C, IP67 or vibration performance. Those must be stated or separately evidenced.
Exact combinations need exact evidence.
If a product family supports 25 positions and also supports PCB termination, ConnectorAtlas does not assume a 25-position PCB version exists. Independent family options do not prove combinability. Exact configurations require configuration-level evidence.
Channel labels
Field / design-in support and Catalogue distribution describe the commercial channel model as an editorial classification. They do not describe distributor quality, portfolio breadth, authorization status or stock availability.
